On this fateful night, Ran herself is reminded of Shuuichi - funny how that works.

Also neat, of course is how Shuuichi and Shiho both have pointed out similarities between Akemi and Ran and (Hidemi has some too).

Why are they all of a sudden having trouble saying "dying message"? They've been saying it this whole time - including canon episodes.

it's a running gag with Jodie-sensei from when she was still teaching at Ran, Shin, and Sonoko's school (and her FBI status was a secret). every time she ran into Takagi, Megure etc. and their English was incorrectly pronounced, she would pounce on them and correct them. she insisted they repeat the words and phrases with her till she was happy.

'dying message' was one of her favorite phrases to correct. especially because Megure was so bad at it. being their 'senior investigator' and boss he hated it when he stuttered, messed up, and got embarrassed that a pretty young foreign woman was treating him like a high school student. ...

considering Megure's wife is almost 20 years younger than him... heh... and quite the looker! mhm! i'm not surprised Jodie flusters him easily! :> hah! :>

I think they're trying to turn "messeeji" into "message"

Usually not in English if you were watching it Subbed.

LesK • 1 year ago

actually yes they have been saying dying message in English this whole time. the dubs from Funimation end at episode 130 in English but 123 by the Japanese episode counts. Funi split up several 1h long specials into two episodes on their DVDs of Conan.

so the only other dubs out there are a couple of other languages and a separate non-Funimation English adaptation of the series by Animax Asia. that version only aired in the Philippines starting on January 18, 2006, under the name Detective Conan. also, Animax Asia was unable to obtain further TV broadcast rights. so, their version comprised merely 52 episodes.

if you're talking about the fan-Dubbed English versions post 123J and 130F those don't count. they're filled with thousands upon thousands of errors. also, they had a highly limited staff to work with. sometimes only three voices were used to perform all the roles for dozens of episodes in a row. they're exactly like every other fan-dub i've ever heard about. they're not even worth trying. ....

not every sub watcher out there just reads, alot of us can listen at the same time. ;)

I love how there is no sound when the say next episode like actual chills

This series is clueless about English as usual. “Shiranpuri” is more likely to be made sense by a person who isn’t a native speaker.
